Baby Basics and Beyond

The only private, in-home baby care class in the Philadelphia area taught by a Board-Certified Pediatric Healthcare Provider, Baby Basics and Beyond extensively covers everything you need to know to confidently and calmly care for your baby from birth and beyond! We will discuss what to expect immediately after birth, typical newborn feeding, sleeping, and growth patterns, basic care skills, tummy time, how to soothe a fussy baby, infant safety, common concerns, when to contact the pediatrician, postpartum baby blues, signs of postpartum depression, and more. Also included is one-on-one demonstration and practice with the following skills: diapering, swaddling, bathing, suctioning, burping, care for the umbilical cord, care of the circumcised and uncircumcised penis, and tummy time.

Approximately 2 hours. This class is designed to be taken prenatally between 24 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. Partners or support persons are encouraged to attend.
